The Athenian citizens would cast a stone into a clay pot to express approval or disapproval for the policy or individual being discussed. Like that of Athenian’s democratic politics, the voting system in a current democracy seeks to incorporate the voice of every citizen. Democratic politics attempt to ensure that a government is determined by the people, and that the majority remains satisfied and content. As populations increase direct democracy is no longer a feasible option, so instead the people choose representatives to carry out their wishes through organized elections. Democratic politics also seek to protect individual’s rights and liberties as outlined in the American Constitution. These liberties include the right to freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of religion, and freedom of assembly.

California is a democrat state that has made the use of marijuana legal for medical purposes. This change in the legal system has left the avenue open for other states to do the same. Hence changing the scope of America as a whole.

This country also has moved toward a health care plan that’s geared toward coverage for all citizens. People are creatures of habit, and accept things based on a majority. These changes are proof that democrats make an impact in the way people across the country think, and how government will operate for them.

The bad thing is that political news is used to glorify celebrities and richer nations like the United States instead of focusing on the problem. Modern media do a great job of saturating the media when tragedy like the Virginia Tech shooting happened for days. The political news that was broadcast was ongoing for a long period of time, which is good for the United States. When issues of poverty arise for places that are less industrialized it is not televised as rapidly. In weeks span the political issues of America will have top priority on news stations across the globe, and issues that are far more important will not. These same political issues of poverty can be prevented very easily, if countries would send over substantial aid to other countries. This should become a priority because most of the problem starts with countries that are well off, due to globalization. International law requires countries to lend a helping hand to those in need and also provide substantial funds to help these countries not only cope with, but come out of poverty. Political news place an important role in spreading awareness on issues like poverty, they unfortunately do a horrible job. As a result, the severity of this issue is not felt and the need for assistance is not pushed. In order for an issue like poverty to become and issue of the past, people have to be informed.

liberal politics first became prominent during the time of the great John Locke. During this time many ideas were based of social status, religion, and the absolute power rule. John Lock introduced the idea that government should be reflective of those that it governed. This new form of governing opened the door for change to be brought about change in an arena that was stale in thought. Ideas of liberal politics like the fundamental right to life, liberty, and property are actually at the base of the constitution. This gives leeway for politics to constantly change to the more liberal form its in today.

Later, during the French and American revolutions, liberal democrats are often used to get rid of autocratic rule. Modern history is based off of liberal politics that keeps nations free of Tyranny. Citizens have the ability to choose who governs and for how long. Before these revolutions, governments were fun by wealthy families, and rulers, instead of average citizens, and government officials. Later, liberals and politics helped to end race wars between Americans in the sixties. Many people began to revolt against government policies and race relations in America, to unite people based on more important factors other than race. Even during conservative times as the sixties liberal politics broke the mold to ensure political growth in the future.

Because of these times in history, liberal politics consists of more organized political groups and organizations that lobby toward important issues of today. Liberal democrats also played a decisive role in the growth of republics, the spread of civil rights and civil, the establishment of the modern welfare state, the institution of religious toleration and religious freedom, and the development of globalization. Currently issues like gay marriage, drug trafficking, religion, and abortion are issues that liberalism focuses on. Liberal politics is a vague category in politics and can be used to change many things.

The Unites States and the world are using liberal thought to change governments and its people. Old ideas in a new world are unnecessary and do not work to the advantage of any nation or its people. Liberal democrats ensure that a nation and its people do not remain stagnant, but that they grow with the times.

The republican political party have been known to keep the rich people richer and the poor people poorer by increasing the taxes on the poor and decreasing them for the rich. Now a days, this was of thinking has been shut down by the new generation of liberal democrats and moderate republicans. The other political party is the democratic party. This political party is one that is more on the liberal side and fights for Civil Rights for all people. They are the new school of politics in the United States and do not like issues like higher taxes, privatized health care, pro life abortion, and marriage dictated by the government. These individuals are usually the ones pushing the envelope. Most democrats are in favor of new ideas and policies that roll with the times. These two political parties are used as a tool to check and balance decisions being made in the capital. The majority of the United States are a part of these political parties.

Even though the democrat and republican parties take up the majority, there is another party known as the liberal party. This political party is the most controversial of all the parties. The individuals in this usually favor issues that look out for the interest of the individual. They believe that governments should interfere on a limited basis and should not control everything a person does. These political parties offer diversity in the political arena, and make for great debate. If there was an absence of objection to issues of a given party, than the country would always stay the same. Change is inevitable and the Untied States changes constantly, which requires that laws and amendments get changed. This also requires that law be created to focus on new issues that face the population, with input from that population. In democracy elected officials are put into office by the people in the community. Each individual in a given community has a different and unique issue of there own that deserves to be heard and considers. The system of debate between opposing sides ensures that the system will remain up to date. That’s why it is extremely important for many political parties to exist at a time.

Running a political campaign is one of the most stressful jobs that there could possibly be. A political campaign requires long hours and demanding scheduling. This mean time away from family and long hard hours of trailing on the road. During a political campaign the main goal is to win the election in which the candidate is running for. The drawback is that both opposing parties will be hard at work taking the necessary steps to victory, and in the end there is only one winner that is awarded. This fact alone makes the process extremely stressful and full of pressure. This political campaign in particular went down in history for many reasons, including the fact the Barack Obama ran a grassroots campaign. Grassroots means that he used the support of American citizens and did not use money from lobbyists or organizations with special interests. This was historical because in the United States most political figures use money given by special interest groups in exchange for a specific policy change. This is how politics get corrupted and how the people or citizens of a country are paid a disservice. Additionally, it was the first time that a political figure became president so soon after joining the senate. Barack Obama had only been a senator for a year before becoming president of the Untied States of America. Political campaigns can be very fun and exciting, especially when they are history making like the one listed above. However, when someone loses a political campaign is very hard to see them this way. Nevertheless, when conducting political campaigns it is most essential to the win that a nominee stay true to hi/her followers.

Many times politics creates controversy throughout communities based on decisions that are made. For the most part however, political negotiations usually are made with the elected official s constituency in mind.

Lobbyist usually work hard to the support of a particular piece of legislation by offering a following from a given religion. And most political figure would rather have the support of large religious groups in hopes to gain support during an election year and or a campaign. Religion is a very important factor in lives of many, and most people tend to lean toward the politics of the church. This is because most people join churches because they believe in them and in the message that they may stand for. Abortion is a political issue that many religions have a problem with, and most of the elected officials that are in favor of it lose support of these religions. In educational setting politics is more relevant that most people think. Governments often run schools and control the supplies they are allotted each year, and provide them with a fiscal yearly budget. When cuts are made toward education, teachers, superintendents and other educational officials stop voting for those officials. Politics exists in personal lives as well. In the professional arena politics is used to delegate authority and seniority. Many times it is used when two parties compete for a specific job. when new employees are hired. Aside from the obvious political participation that most citizen engage in, it exists within families. Parents set rules that children must follow, and make decisions for them as well. Many times people think of politics as a bad thing when most of the time its just negotiating that is taking place. People negotiate everyday, even in the smallest instances. Most of the time people only make the correlation between government and politics, when they engage in it daily as well. Political decision making is useful, at least in the United States, because it keeps the country in check. Politicians make up laws that the average American must follow, and that keeps control.
